Lucille Yvette St. Croix (Nee Martel)

March 28, 1947 — March 28, 2011

1947 ~ 2011

Surrounded by her family on Friday, December 9, 2011, Lucille peacefully passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital.

She was predeceased by her husband Louis St. Croix, parents Elie and Augustine, brothers Jules and Leo Martel and leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Louise (Reg), son Rene (Karen), grandchildren, Julie, Luc, Danielle, Jaelyn, Kayla, Breanne and Ashley, great-granddaughter Carleigh, sisters, Julie (Dan), Yvette (Bill), Lillian, Aline (Art), Dorothy (Nick), Sylvia (Ian) and numerous family and friends.

Lucille was 64 years old and made her home in St. Georges, MB, later in Selkirk, then Winnipeg.  She worked side by side with Louis to build St. Croix Cycle and Marine and also was the Post Mistress for the St. Georges Post Office.  She loved the simple things in life and her greatest joy was always her family; playing cards, goofing around with her Grandkids, renovating, going to the Casino and living life to the fullest.  She had a kind soul and a wonderful sense of humour.  Lucille loved music and played the piano, guitar and accordion.

The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and medical professionals for the exceptional care they provided over the past two years.

Prayers were said on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. at Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Church in Powerview, MB, with Rev. Fr. James Gray presiding.  Funeral procession to Broadlands Cemetery after Mass; interment for both Lucille and Louis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, 2020-10th Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta, Canada T2M 3M2 .
