Marguerite Dancho (Nee Katazinski)

March 28, 1930 — March 28, 2015

1930 ~ 2015

With heartfelt sadness, Marguerite’s family wishes to announce her passing at the age of 85, during the wee hours of June 13, 2015 at Tudor House Care Home, from complications from a stroke and diabetes.

Marguerite was born March 6, 1930 at St. Adolphe, MB and then moved north of Tyndall, MB where she met the love of her life Frank Dancho and was married on August 30, 1947 at the age of 17.  She moved a mile down the road where she lived and farmed all her life.  She was married 49 years until Frank passed away on January 17, 1997.

She worked hard on her mixed farm and earned income from shipping cream, selling eggs, beef cattle and grain.  She loved vegetable and flowers gardening and spruce tree planting around her yard.  When all of her children were attending school she started working at the Selkirk Mental Hospital as a nurse’s aide for over 20 years.  Upon retirement she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren who were her greatest joy.  Her true talent was her ability to tell entertaining stories both verbally and written.  She passionately read the daily newspaper and highlighted interesting articles that she would share with her family.

Left to cherish her wonderful memories are her five children: son Alfred and Trudi Dancho and their children, Jeffrey (Katherine), Heidi and Tiffany (Boyd); daughter Shirley and Mike Dovidija and their children Alexandria and Mackenzie; son Garry and Sheila Dancho and their children Raquel, Jasmine and Hope; daughter Sylvia (Bill, deceased) Uskoski and her daughters Sabrina and Brittany; daughter Susan and Wayne Peitsch and their children Terry (Shauna), Jennifer and Andrew (Allie) and great grandchildren Amber Leblanc; Ezrie, Ava, Taya and Lincoln Peitsch; Aurora Uskoski; Eva Rubeniuk; Levi and Jase Dancho.

Marguerite is also survived by her sisters Elsie (Joe, deceased), Vera (Ron), Mary (John, deceased) and Ida (Bob); brothers Alex (Margaret, deceased) and Roy (Lucille); and by numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her twin brothers William and Jackie; father Adam, July 27, 1959 and mother Tekla, December 7, 1961.

Viewing will be held at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour on Thursday, June 18 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.   Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 19 at 11:30 a.m. also at the chapel with viewing one hour prior.  Interment will follow in the Tyndall Cemetery.  A lunch will follow in the Beausejour Room, Brokenhead River Community Hall.

Huge thanks to Marguerite’s sister Ida Zebinski for the love, caring and support she provided during Marguerite’s stay at Tudor House.

Rest in peace Marguerite, our beloved Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister, Aunt and Friend.  Your suffering is over and you are at peace with our Creator.
