Nona Kay Lashek (Nee Karl)

May 13, 1964 ~ June 17, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife and mother.

She will be dearly missed by her husband of 18 years, Allen, sons Murray, Aaron and Nicholas, brother Raymond and sister Maryann (Paul) and many nieces and nephews.

Nona was predeceased by her parents, John and Hildagarda Karl.

Nona was born in Whitemouth and raised in Seven Sisters.    She married Allen August 24th, 2002. Her boys meant the world to her and she enjoyed having Aaron living close by and although her other sons were further away, she enjoyed any time they were able to visit. She loved working with children and touched many lives through working at daycare centres and working as an educational assistant at Whitemouth and Beausejour Schools. Her passion was planting and caring for her flowers and flowerbeds.  She loved animals, having many cats and dogs around her all her life.   Everyone enjoyed her homemade meals and baking. She always put her family first providing comfort and support to them regardless of how she was feeling.

As per Nona’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family internment will take place at a later date.

Donations may be made in Nona’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

To all the family of Nona, I am extending my sincere sympathies. I didn’t know Nona as I did Maryann, but remember her being a sweet girl. It’s good to read about her and the wonderful person that she was. I’m sure she left many memories to cherish!

    To Nona’s family:
I am so very saddened by the loss of such an amazing, beautiful and loving lady! My deepest sympathies and condolences to all of you!
I had the pleasure of working with Nona at Beausejour Elementary School. She was always eager to help in any way she could and was absolutely wonderful with the students that she worked with. Her genuine love for children was evident in everything she did. She has touched the minds and hearts of so many.
You all will be in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Take care and know that God needed another beautiful, loving angel, so he called Nona home to heaven.
