Roman Ruchkall

1943 ~ 2014

Today we lost a true gentleman.

On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, Roman Ruchkall, aged 70 years, of Anola, MB, passed away peacefully at Health Science Centre.  He fought a good fight and had to put his gloves down.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Tanya (David) Foidart and Derek (Ainsley), his long-time soul mate Darlene Shaski, her children Tammy, Theresa (Cole) and Vicky, granddaughter Julia and his sister Winnie Chanas.  He was predeceased by his parents John and Louise, brother Ben and sister Virginia.

Dad was a kind-hearted and loving man who cared deeply about others and had a heart of gold, always putting  others  ahead of himself.  He could make you laugh no matter what the situation was.  Dad was strong and hardworking.  He loved farming and animals of all shapes and sizes.  Dad enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, flowers and BINGO!  He liked to spend time with this his friends, telling stories and having coffee.  Dad had a strong faith in God.

The family would like to thank Drs. Hussain and Van Rensburg, the Russian Doctor (Marina) and the whole staff at CancerCare Urgent Care.

Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, March 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Anola with interment following in the Eastdale Cemetery.  Prayers will be said Friday, March 21 at 7:00 p.m. also at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in dad’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, Cardiac Care, C1026-409 Tache, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.

Dad, you were a lot of things to a lot of people but to us, you were everything.  We love you and you will forever be in our hearts.
